Gideon Matthew Fidler (1857-1942). English painter & illustrator. The younger brother of the celebrated impressionist painter Harry Fidler. Sons of a Wiltshire farmer, the Fidlers lived & worked in the villages west of Salisbury, namely Chilmark & Teffont. Gideon specialised in country subjects in the west of England but he also painted in Scandinavia. His works were exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Painters in watercolour.

Date: Early 20th century.
Dimensions: Painting Size Approx: 242mm x 178mm.
Condition: Yellowing. Staining around the edges caused by the original frame mount, a few pin holes around the edges, a small circled hole to the paper, (please see photos).
